About
Who we are
This website is the result of a collaboration between four universities of applied sciences in Switzerland as part of the Alience Project.
The PV competence centres of the ZHAW, BFH, SUPSI and OST have joined forces to form a consortium of experts in the field of alpine PV systems.
Why we do this
Our aim is to build a centralised knowledge base through the targeted exchange of knowledge and experience between the individual project teams as well as with various implementation partners and industry specialists.
Scientific findings and applied expertise in the field of Alpine PV systems are to be compiled and organized in a competent and efficient manner. Information on the project progress of Alpine PV systems throughout Switzerland will be continuously updated and collated.
The Purpose of this Website
The results of these exchanges and the active research work of the project teams will be made available to the public here as quickly as possible. Planners and interested parties can thus quickly and centrally find out about the status of various plants, new technical findings and the latest developments in the field of Alpine PV.
This website is designed and structured to best meet the needs of a diverse group of visitors.
On the one hand, there is an interactive map on which the individual plants are marked. This is to give an overview of the distribution and diversity of the various planned and realised Alpine PV projects. Each of these projects also has its own page with detailed information about the plant, the location, the project managers and the current progress. In addition, there is a page with statistical analyses and graphs of said data.
On the other hand, there is a wiki platform on which all the aforementioned knowledge about Alpine PV systems is collected and made available. It is being continuously expanded and updated to keep it up to date.
How we collect data
The data on the website essentially comes from three different sources:
- Publicly available data
- Official websites
- Studies from other institutions
- Discussions with stakeholders (planners, investors, authorities)
- Print and online media
- Content compiled by the universities of applied sciences
- Investigations
- Measurements
- Simulations
- Studies
- Information from regulations/ordinance/laws
